A new year feels like a blank page. New chances and possibilities. And to get off to a good start, good planning is also part of it. Because let's be honest: I had a hard time with it this past year. I didn't get into it that well. We were running from sports, parents' evenings and fun birthdays, and there was also work to be done. But in the meantime I suffered enormously from procrastination. Do you recognize that too?

Overview

Making a good plan can really help me. And I mean a plan on paper. Of course I have all the important things in my digital calendar (with a reminder or 2-3), but what I often miss is an overview. And so in 2025 I will work with a paper agenda and planner in addition to my digital agenda.

agenda and calendar

A paper agenda not only gives you a visual overview of everything that awaits you that week or month, but by writing down all these things yourself, they also stick better in your head. As a result, you are less surprised by certain appointments or activities.

Another advantage of a paper agenda or planner is that it also has a stimulating effect. Making a to-do list is not only useful but also very nice, to be able to cross off another task!

time saving

Once you manage to plan certain things well, you will also notice that it can save you time, because you simply work a little more efficiently, you have a better idea of what is coming up and you therefore have to rush to the supermarket for something easy because you forgot that parents' evening and everyone wants to eat something anyway (true story)

what do you choose?

What works best for you? That might take some figuring out. There is a huge range of planners, agendas and calendars (with extra writing space), and everyone has their own preference. If you find it handy to always have your agenda with you, then a handy agenda or planner is probably your thing. A wall or desk calendar is handy if several people need to know what the planning is for the coming period. You could also use a weekly or monthly planner for that, if you can put it in a central place of course. In addition, I use a planner a lot for my work in the webshop because you work a little further ahead there and some extra writing space is also handy.
