This kintsugi repair kit creates a new way to repair porcelain based on the ancient Kintsugi technique. The story goes that Kintsugi may have originated when, at the end of the 15th century, the emperor sent his damaged pottery to China for repairs. When it was returned repaired with metal staples, he ordered his craftsmen to come up with something more aesthetic, Kintsugi (gold repair). This art became such a hype that some collectors began to deliberately destroy valuable pottery so that it could be repaired with the gold seams of kintsugi.
