This beautiful cake stand is made from the roots of a teak tree. These roots are usually considered waste, because they have to be dug up for new planting. Local villagers collect the roots from the plantations and clean them. Then they are processed by craftsmen into for example these nice stands. They use traditional tools for the production process. The wooden items have their own natural and organic drawing and are treated with completely natural and non-toxic oil to provide food-safe products.
